HBP Wins WATCH Award for Performance in 2006

The Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH) announced the winners of the 7th annual Awards ceremony at The Birchmere in Alexandria Sunday, March 4, 2007. Twenty-four community theaters in Virginia, Maryland and the District presented a total of 96 productions (25 musicals and 71 plays) for judging in 2006. In each of twenty-eight categories, five nominees were selected based on the average scores of eight judges. In some categories, due to score ties, more than five nominees are announced.

Twenty-four community theaters in Virginia, Maryland and the District presented a total of 96 productions (25 musicals and 71 plays) for judging in 2006. In each of twenty-eight categories, five nominees were selected based on the average scores of eight judges. In some categories, due to score ties, more than five nominees are announced.

The nominees for the Hard Bargain Players are:

HBP Receives Three Nominations at the 2005 NVTA One-Act Festival

Hard Bargain Players under the direction of David Standish performed "A Game" by Dennis Noble at the 24th Annual Northern Virginia Theatre Alliance One-Act Festival on June 18th. Susan Fischer and Lynn Thorne were recognized for Best Supporting Actress nominations and the entire group was nominated for one of the judge's three discretionary awards - Best Ensemble Performance. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for their hard work.


HBP Takes Third Place Award at 2005 AACT FEST

After winning the recent Maryland Theatre Festival and ESTA FEST, the Eastern States Theatre Festival, Hard Bargain Players and “ xphiles unrequited " placed third at AACT FEST and the National Theatre Festival in Kalamazoo, Michigan, June 14 - 18, 2005. Congratulations to Bob Bartlett, Rob Heinly, and Adam Brandao for their fine work.

 
HBP Wins 5 Awards at the 2005 Maryland One Act Festival

Hard Bargain Players and "xphiles unrequited" came away with 5 awards at the 2005 20th Annual Maryland State One-Act Festival held January 14, 15 and 16, 2005, at the Cultural Arts Center in Frederick, Maryland.

Best Production -- "xphiles unrequited" (dir. Bob Bartlett)
Clifford Smith Award for Best Director -- Bob Bartlett
Best Actor -- Adam Brandao
Best Actor -- Robert Heinly
Best Original Script -- Bob Bartlett

Hard Bargain Players and "xphiles unrequited" will represent Maryland in the East Coast Regional at 2005 ESTAFEST (http://www.estafest.org/), April 15 and 16, 2005 in Dover, DE, at the Schwartz Center.

The Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH) announced on January 16 the nominees for the 5th annual Awards ceremony to be held at The Birchmere in Alexandria Sunday, March 6, 2005. Twenty-four community theaters in Virginia, Maryland and the District presented a total of 90 shows (25 musicals and 65 plays) for judging. In each of twenty-eight categories, five nominees were selected based on the average scores of at least seven judges. In some categories, due to score ties, more than five nominees are announced.
